Maranta 'Red Prayer Plant' – Pet-Safe Plant That Folds Its Leaves at Night

A plant with a bedtime routine. The Red Prayer Plant has velvety green leaves traced with bright red veins, and every evening it folds its leaves upward like hands in prayer.

Why plant moms love it

• Pet-friendly: Maranta is listed by the ASPCA as non-toxic to cats and dogs.
• Light: medium indirect light. Too much direct sun fades the red veins.
• Water: keep soil evenly moist but not wet; it appreciates humidity.
• Great for: hanging baskets and shelves, where its leaves spill over the edge.

Botanical name: Maranta leuconeura · Native to Central & South America
